Following The International 2024, the Dota 2 roster shuffle is heating up as teams prepare for the new season. OG and BetBoom Team are the latest organizations to make changes to their rosters. Let’s take a look at the changes.
Timado has left OG Esports in the ongoing roster shuffle post-TI 2024. The announcement comes in the wake of OG’s failure to qualify for The International 2024 (TI13), following a season marked by instability and frequent changes.
Timado joined OG during a period of instability, but his arrival quickly helped the team regain some momentum. With Timado, OG achieved consistent results in mid-tier tournaments, with ESL One Birmingham 2024 being a notable exception, where they finished fourth.
However, they also missed out on qualifying for TI13, PGL Wallachia Season 1 & 2, and finished 9th-12th at Riyadh Masters 2024, missing out on the biggest tier-1 tournaments, a sign enough to warrant a change.
Timado’s tenure at OG lasted less than six months as he bid farewell to the team.
In other news, BetBoom also announced changes to its Dota 2 roster as the Russian esports organisation parted ways with Danil "gpk" Skutin, Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko and Alexander "TORONTOTOKYO" Khertek.
The trio have been set to inactive after BetBoom’s dismal run at The International 2024 (TI13) where they finished in the top eight. BetBoom’s talent was undeniable, but they consistently struggled to close out games, frequently losing momentum in the late game, resulting in their demise.
The team's defeat against Aurora at TI13, after dominating for most of the series, revealed underlying problems that were beginning to tear the team apart, inevitably leading to roster changes.
Notably, Ivan "Pure" Moskalenko returns to BetBoom after his loan with Tundra Esports ended. With Tundra, Pure had his career-best run at The International 2024 (TI13) with a third-place finish.
"He [Pure] was an important key to our success, always worked on improving as a team, surprised us several times with his plays, vision of the game and team mentality," Tundra Esports.
