Crownfall Archive announced, next Dota 2 patch teased?

Valve has teased the next Dota 2 patch and announced the Crownfall Archive – a collection of all the minigames and comics from all four Crownfall Acts, namely, I, II, III and IV, and accessible to everyone, regardless of whether they were unlocked while the event was active.

The Crownfall Archive

Valve has taken a proactive step in listening to the Dota 2 community and taking their feedback seriously, as always. Now every player will be able to play their favourite mini-game even when the Crownfall event is coming to an end.

That’s where the Crownfall Archive comes into the picture.

The Crownfall Archive will be your sanctuary where a collection of all the minigames and comics from all four Crownfall Acts, namely, I, II, III and IV, will be readily accessible to everyone, irrespective of whether someone had it unlocked or not while the event was active.

Isn’t that lovely news?

Moreover, everyone’s progress through each of the Act I-IV maps have also been preserved. More brownie points to Valve! Additionally, anyone sitting on Crownfall rewards like candy or points, can continue to redeem them through the Archive.

That’s the end of the Crownfall chapter but also a hint at the beginning of a new one. As mentioned in the announcement, the compasses now point at some new guiding stars – potentially hinting at the arrival of a new Dota 2 patch update.

Will there be a new Dota 2 Patch in February?

Valve is certainly gifted, especially about leaving hints, when it comes to new Dota 2 patch updates. But so are we, gifted, or at least we’d like to think that way. According to the initial announcement of The International 2025 being held in Hamburg, Germany, there was a cheeky reference of “stars being aligned.”

In the latest Crownfall Archive update, there’s another reference being made to the stars. Here it goes:

According to a brilliant Redditor, the next planetary alignment is taking place in 2025: February 28: a great evening alignment of Saturn, Mercury, Neptune, Venus, Uranus, Jupiter, and Mars.

While technically the reference doesn’t mention stars but planets instead, one can but wonder if the next Dota 2 patch update might potentially come in February.

Historically speaking, there’s no particular time of Valve releasing a patch update. It might come in early, it might get delayed, or it might as well drop right in the middle of a tournament, including The International, so nothing specific can be said.
