The wait is over! Dota 2 fans rejoice, as the dates for The International 2025 (TI14) have been officially confirmed. The world’s best teams will meet at the Barclays Arena in Hamburg, Germany from September 11 to 14, 2025, for a chance to claim the Aegis of Champions.
Here’s all the available information for Dota 2’s The International 2025 (TI14):
The competition returns to ground zero, Germany, where it all began. To the uninitiated, the inaugural season of The International 2011 was held at Gamescom, Cologne, to a handful of audience that saw NAVI take the crown.
Fourteen years later, the event has come full circle. Sixteen teams will compete for the ultimate glory at the Barclays Arena in Hamburg, Germany. The arena has a capacity of nearly 13,800 people for sporting/esports events.
The teams will be determined through a mix of open qualifiers, regional qualifiers, and direct invitations, following the same pattern as last year. More information on ticketing and scheduling for The International 2025 and the direct invites and qualifiers will be revealed in the coming months.
The International, often abbreviated as TI, is the annual world championship tournament for Dota 2. Every year, the world’s best teams compete to claim the Aegis of Champions and bragging rights as the best Dota 2 team.
Team Liquid is the defending champion, winning The International 2024 (TI13) last year and will be tasked with defending their throne, provided they qualify for the event, through direct invites or qualifiers, once again.
TI is an extravagant esports affair boasting millions of dollars in prize pool although the past few TI’s have seen a decline in the prize money. Nonetheless, the importance of winning at TI and becoming the world’s best Dota 2 team is priceless.
