The stage is set for Tundra Esports at BLAST Slam II, where they will clash with nine other elite teams for a $1,000,000 prize pool. Having tasted near success in the inaugural season, Tundra will be more than hungry to claim their rightful place.
Tundra Esports showcased their strength in the inaugural Slam, remaining unbeaten until the grand final. Their ability to adapt to the tournament's unique gauntlet format, combined with their group stage dominance, secured them a direct semi-final spot, demonstrating Tundra’s deep understanding of the game.
However, they fell short against the formidable BetBoom Team in the grand final and had to settle for second place. Tundra will be eager to prove its mettle, and a victory at BLAST Slam II will set the tone for the remainder of the year.
The team is no longer the same as it was in the inaugural season of Slam, having made a few roster changes heading into the new year. They parted ways with Lorenof at the end of his loan and moved Nightfall to inactive.
Tundra Esports have added the renowned carry Dyrachyo, a two-time TI finalist with Gaimin Gladiators, and the charismatic mid-laner Bzm, the last remnant of the OG 2.0 era.
Dyrachyo was instrumental in forging Gaimin’s golden era, securing numerous majors and tier-1 victories, including the Riyadh Masters 2024. Meanwhile, Bzm traversed a more difficult path with OG undergoing constant roster changes over the past two years.
These changes underscore Tundra's relentless pursuit of dominance. Both players are incredibly skilled and bring a wealth of experience, and under the leadership of 33, both of them will strive to usher in a new era for the team.
Following Slam I’s incredible success, BLAST Slam II promises to be even better with unparalleled production quality and an immersive viewing experience. The show begins on February 4, 2025! Stay tuned for more updates.
