BetBoom Team has been invited to BLAST Slam II. They won the inaugural Slam in a highly-contested battle against Tundra Esports and will seek to defend their throne as the reigning champions at BLAST Slam II.
BetBoom established itself as a formidable force in Dota 2, but its consistent success was overshadowed by its inability to overcome the final hurdle, settling for second place most of the time and becoming mired in a pattern of near-misses.
However, at the inaugural BLAST Slam, they went in with a fire to overcome the barrier… and they did! They topped their group and booked themselves a spot in the semifinals, courtesy of Slam’s unique format, and cruised through the grand final, defeating Tundra Esports to claim the bragging rights.
They finally broke through the wall holding them back and won their first championship as a team. Riding the momentum, they headed into ESL One Bangkok 2024 with the same vigour and even had a commendable group stage.
However, they lost to Parivision in the upper bracket final, then faced the resurgent Team Liquid in the lower bracket final and ultimately settled for third place. They bowed out of the last tournament of the year with a respectable finish.
Heading into the new year, BetBoom made a crucial change to its roster. They benched Kiyotaka while the formidable Gpk returned to the active roster. To the uninitiated, Gpk is one of the most prolific players to grace the scene, known for his versatile and aggressive plays.
Despite their existing strength, the roster change adds even more firepower, preparing them to face the obstacles in 2025, especially at BLAST Slam II.
