After three maps, G2 managed to take down a strong Vitality side thanks to incredible third maps performances by NiKo and malbsMd.
After the game, we spoke to malbsMd about the series, becoming more comfortable on stage, and whether or not he is a T sided player.
The series went the full distance and you really turned up on map three, did you as a team need to find an extra gear on that map to get it over the line?
Yeah, we were a little bit tilted in the first map, so everything just came together and said we need to reset. That happened, and we played really well for the rest of the series.
Your performance on map three was really strong, did you know you had to take it to a next level individually in order to win?
I think I was feeling good in all three maps, I had a really good day today. On Mirage, I was doing my work on T side and then on CT side I had a lot of impact kills too.
There's a narrative right now that says you're more of a T sided player than a CT sided one, do you agree with that or are you more well-rounded?
It's whatever, you know? People expect me to have a 1.30 rating being an anchor, but that's impossible. It's super hard to do that because people are normally going into default Mid takes or whatever the choke point is, they don't just go to the sites. Even if they do, it's hard because there's flashes and mollies and everything else.
You're still new to playing on big stages, are you getting used to it now?
Today I felt like I was playing from home, I felt really comfortable, I didn't feel any nerves, I was just full chilling.
NiKo put his fist through a desk when he failed to pull off a 1v5, does it really take blood, sweat, and tears to win a Counter-Strike match?
[laughs] For sure.
