A massive update to CS2 has just gone live - one that could see even bigger changes coming in the future.
The update covers almost all of the animations in the game, as well as bringing changes to three of the current Active Duty maps, in one of the biggest updates Counter-Strike 2 has ever received.
Let's dive into the changes.
Train has undergone big changes in the newest update. Previously criticised for the lack of available cover for the CT side after the removal of some trains compared to the CS:GO version, that cover has now returned in the in the form of boxes.
Lots of boxes.
Inferno has also seen some changes, with the patch notes stating the following:
You can see the completed repairs to the Balcony below, which should make it a little bit harder for the T side as they look to terrorise your Pit players with Apps pops.
Overpass has also seen some minor changes, some of which will definitely effect the way you take certain gunfights.
You can check out all the changes to maps in the video below.
Weapons have seen a huge overhaul in the latest update, with guns and knives all having their pull out animations adjusted within the new update.
Reload animations have also been adjusted, making many of them feel a lot more realistic within the game.
And it seems this is just the beginning when it comes to animation updates, as the patch notes state the following:
"The animation system in CS2 is in the process of being upgraded to AnimGraph2, which requires reauthoring existing game content. Today's update replaces all first-person animations, including weapon deploy, firing, reload, and inspect animations" - Valve
