Despite winning ESL Challenger Atlanta in October, FlyQuest will be making a change to their roster for 2025.
aliStair has benched, ending his almost three-year association with the roster core that originally formed on Renegades.
The change comes after FlyQuest's disappointing collapse at the Perfect World Shanghai Major, a run that saw them go 2-0 before losing six consecutive maps to exit the competition with a 2-3 record.
The news also comes the same day that it was announced that FlyQuest will take part in the inaugural BLAST Premier Bounty, you can read more about the invites for the event here.
aliStair originally linked up with FlyQuest star INS on Renegades in 2021, with the core forming when liazz was added a year later.
The trio later signed for ORDER, where they added Vexite, before joining Grayhound after ORDER went bankrupt.
They later signed for FlyQuest in 2024, with that win in Atlanta being their best result since joining.
In a statement on Twitter, aliStair said the following:
"This year will definitely go down as the toughest year I’ve ever faced in CS. Not making the first major of CS2 and going through a slump strengthened me and made me search for answers to rebuild and get better." - aliStair, via Twitter
Although it is currently unclear who FlyQuest will replace him with, they may go the route of fellow Australian team TALON, who looked outside of the Australian scene to sign Polish sniper mhL.
FlyQuest's first event in 2025 will be BLAST Bounty, which is set to kick off on January 13th.
