CS2 players have been starving for new content for a while so there's reason to be happy now that Valve have released a huge update to the game.
The update, titled The Armory, brings 100 new cosmetic items to the game, including skins, stickers, and all-new charms that can be applied to guns to give them an extra personal touch.
So, with so much content to get through, how about we breakdown the CS2 The Armory update?
One of the first things to know about the CS2 Armory update is that it functions somewhat like a battlepass in other games. However, in CS2, this battlepass is called the Armory Pass.
An Armory Pass features 40 credits and as long as you're playing gamemodes that earn you XP, you'll be working towards earning credits too.
Those credits can then be redeemed for items included in the Armory, which can only be acquired through the use of Armory credits.
You can also get up to five Armory Passes at once, of which all five will gain progression at the same time and allowing you to earn items far quicker.
However, one pass costs $15.99, so if you want to get five you should be prepared to spend a reasonable amount of money.
You can also use the credits to get a Heat Treated Desert Eagle, a new skin that is available for a limited time in the Armory.
So, what about some of the content in the CS2 Armory Pass?
First up, we have Charms, something completely new to CS2 that has been rumoured for a long time.
There are two collections of Charms currently available, the Small Arms Charms and the Missing Links Charms. The Missing Links Charms are a variety of little sausage people with fun designs, while the Small Arms Charms are representative of more classic Counter-Strike symbolism, such as knives and guns.
The big thing about the charms is that they can be placed anywhere on your guns, meaning you can make them interact with stickers and skins in ways that isn't possible in other games with forms of Charms.
The next huge part of the CS2 The Armory update is the fact that four new cases and collections have been brought to the game, including a refreshed 2024 Overpass collection.
The other cases are the Graphic Collection, the Sport and Field Collection, and the Gallery Case. There are also two new sticker capsules, the Elemental and Character craft stickers.
Let's take a look at each one.
The 2024 Overpass Collection features some very brightly coloured skins, including the AK-47 B the Monster, which, if you hadn't guessed it, is themed after the iconic Monster spot on the B site.
There's also a Zeus skin within the Collection, the Zeus Dragon Snore, as well as a new pink/purple AWP skin called Crakow!
Oh, and for all of you animal-themed skin lovers, the highlight will be the MAC-10 Pipsqueak.
Next up we have the Graphic Collection, a more basic collection of skins that are created with techniques from traditional print media.
Admittedly, the Graphic Collection is a little boring compared to the Overpass Collection, but it's worth it just for the AUG Lil' Pig.
The third collection, the Sport and Field Collection, sees a new rendition of the classic Fade skin.
The new Fade skin, the M4A1-S Fade, is the standout skin in the Sport and Field Collection, although the Glock-18 AXIA is also nice.
Finally, we have the Gallery Case. The highlight of the Gallery Case is another M4A1-S skin, this time named Vaporwave. Purple and white with flashes of orange and blue, the M4A1-S Vaporwave features a Roman statue in the design.
There is also a new Neo-Noir skin, this time for the UMP-45.
There are also two new sticker capsules as part of The Armory update in CS2, featuring little monsters and creatures to add more life to your guns.
There is also the ability to now preview what stickers will look like after you scrape them, as well as a slider to perfect the level of scrape.
