Fans and professional players alike will be over the moon with the latest Counter-Strike 2 update as improvements have been made to the CS2's sub-tick system.
Initial reactions are overwhelmingly positive, just look at this tweet from Complexity star EliGE:
With that positive outlook in our minds, let's take a look at the patch notes, shall we?
One of the biggest things in the newest update is that Valve has "Fixed a bug where pressing a movement key immediately after jumping resulted in an inconsistent jump height".
According to fans, this was a problem before, especially when throwing smokes that required a jump-throw to land them.
Another big change is that "The visual and audio feedback from sub-tick input—such as movement acceleration and muzzle flashes—will now always render on the next frame".
This will make the game feel more consistent and responsive, which further fixes some of the issues players have been complaining about since CS2's release.
The final update in the gameplay section revolves around synchronisation between the Client and the Server.
The note reads: "Random numbers used for shooting spread are now synchronized between clients and servers by default. This makes tracers and decals match their server-authoritative trajectories more closely."
Referring back to the EliGE tweet, it seems this update will also really benefit the idea of consistency in-game, particularly when tackling the issue that spraying with a rifle hasn't felt as good as it did in CS:GO.
Also in the patch notes are some changes to matchmaking.
Previously, players have been unable to queue Premier when in parties of four. This has now been changed so that any party size can queue Premier.
To combat the negative effects of this, solo players who queue into a game with a party of four have also been granted immunity from being kicked from the match by their teammates.
There has also been a change to how CS rating works after periods of inactivity, with the algorithm re-establishing that rating being adjusted.
There has also been a host of changes, such as this change to the audio which was also highlighted by EliGE.
