And each power-up comes with multiple upgrade levels, so the more you upgrade, the more powerful your brawler becomes. Here’s a rundown of the new power-ups:
Krabby Patty
This power-up creates a shield that revolves around you. When the shield is destroyed, it absorbs damage for a short period of time. Three Krabby Patties will rotate around a tank brawler, giving them damage resistance, a speed boost, and charging their Super.
Kelp Soda
This one’s perfect for Support classes. It creates a healing area around you, and using your Super spawns a Power Cube.
Clockwork Clarinet
For the Controller class, this power-up lets you unleash Squidward’s musical attack after a cooldown. It pierces through obstacles and enemies, and you can store up to two of these musical attacks.
Spatula
This Assassin-class power-up spins around you, taking down low-health enemies, giving you a speed boost, and making you temporarily invisible.
Doodle Pineapple
With a short cooldown, Artillery’s basic attack drops a pineapple from the sky. It deals damage and leaves a damaging area that explodes into pineapple chunks.
Bubble
Controller’s basic attack leaves a trail of bubbles on the ground, damaging enemies who touch them. At the end of the trail, an explosion releases more bubbles.
Chum Balls
This power-up for the Damage Dealer class spawns homing projectiles every time you hit an enemy. It also boosts your movement speed and provides healing for a short time.
How to unlock SpongeBob Power-ups in Brawl Stars?
- To get your hands on these power-ups, you’ll need to open Power Meals using Krusty Kash. You can find these Power Meals at the Krusty Krab store in Starr Park.
- The store will feature daily deals where you can spend your Krusty Kash, including some exclusive SpongeBob Character skins.
How to earn Krusty Kash in Brawl Stars?
- You can earn Krusty Kash by playing game modes with the SpongeBob modifier. The catch is, you can only earn it on your first win of the day, so make sure you’re making the most of these opportunities.
- There’s also a chance to get 100 free Krusty Kash from daily rewards, available through the Daily Free Paycheck from Squidward and the Krusty Krab.

The SpongeBob season introduces two new game modes:
Jellyfishing
This 3v3 mode involves catching jellyfish scattered around the map. The team with the most jellyfish wins. To catch a jellyfish, you need to hold onto it for five seconds.
If you get knocked out before time’s up, you drop the jellyfish, allowing others to grab it. So, be prepared to both catch and steal jellyfish from your opponents.
Trio Showdown
In this mode, 12 brawlers battle in teams of four. It’s similar to Duo Showdown but with a new team dynamic.

There are some exciting new brawlers coming up:
Moe

His Super lets him climb into a digging machine, plowing through everything in his path. Moe will be available starting August 29 with his 29 Gem Monterey Moe Skin.
Kenji
Image via Brawl Stars/YouTubeAn assassin and the first member of his trio, Kenji has two distinct attack patterns: Dash and Wide Slash. He alternates between these patterns with each attack.
His Super targets an area with a powerful Slash and grants temporary invincibility. Kenji will be available with his Fruit Samurai skin from September 26, 2024.
All new hypercharges revealed in Brawl Stars Brawl Talk (August 24, 2024)
Some existing brawlers are getting new Hypercharges:
- Poco: His Super will now overheal, adding a shield based on the extra healing given.
- Mortis: His Super now returns at maximum distance, dealing the same damage and healing.
- Squeak: Squeak’s Super projectiles will now bounce and split one more time.
- Tara: Tara’s Super will be larger and last longer.
- Nani: Her Hypercharge makes her Super, Peep, grow in size and speed.
- Surge: When Surge activates his Hypercharge, he hits max level and unlocks a level five upgrade. His shots will split regardless of hitting an enemy and travel further, plus he gets an increased range.

Now, onto the skins. If you’re into Squidward, you’ll be happy to know there’s a Squidward Mortis skin coming to the Brawl Pass. There are also two exclusive color variants that you can snag if you’re a Brawl Pass Plus subscriber. But that’s not all—SpongeBob El Primo is making his debut, and you can get him for free through the Club Event.
To unlock SpongeBob El Primo, you’ll need to earn Krusty Kash, a new temporary currency introduced for the SpongeBob season. You can collect Krusty Kash by participating in events and contributing to the club collection. And the best part? Your clubmates can pitch in to help fill the collection, making it a team effort.
Besides SpongeBob El Primo, keep an eye out for other new skins like Patrick Buzz, Sandy Jessie , Gary the Snail, Mr. Krabs Tick, and Plankton Darryl. They’re all part of the fun, so don’t miss them.

Two new ranked modifiers
- Gadget Galore: Gadgets will now have unlimited charges but with a 15-second cooldown.
- Momentum: Hitting a brawler grants a short burst of movement speed. If a pet or turret deals the damage, the speed boost will be given to their owner.
Two new mini-themes
Brawl Stars also revealed following two new-mini themes that will include several skins:
- Spooky Skins: Spooky skins like Gruesome Gus, Decaying Dynamike, and Putrid Pam.
- Harvest Festival: Featuring three new skins for the festival: Moon Guardian Crow, Moon Guardian Hank, and Moon Guarding Chester.
