Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is here and it is beautiful. Omni-movement is clean, the gunplay is crisp, and the Moshpit playlist makes camo grinding an absolute breeze.
However, with so many players running around using the most meta gun builds in Black Ops 6, going for that camo grind can be a bit trying at times, so we thought we'd put together a list of the best assault rifle loadouts and builds in Black Ops 6 to keep you on a level playing field.
We're not going to go over all of the ARs in the game, because some are far superior to the others, so we'll go over the four you should be using either for your camo grinds or just shredding your lobbies.
Kicking us off for our list of the best AR loadouts in Black Ops 6 we have the current king of the ARs, thje XM4. Default M4-type guns are usually strong in COD, but this one really takes the cake. In fact, it's so strong that the pros banned it from use almost immediately.
Let's now look at the best attachments for the XM4. A running trend in this article is that we're going to be telling you to use the Reinforced Barrel on every gun, but this one will be a little different.
For the purpose of this XM4 best build, we're going for the full pub stomping build, optimizing both speed and damage. So for that reason, use the Long Barrel instead.
Other than that of your choice, a Vertical Grip, Light Stock, Suppressor, a mag of your choice, Quickdraw Grip, and most importantly, Rapid Fire.
Rapid fire might seem like a rogue choice for this BO6 best assault rifle loadout, but trust us, this gun is a laser beam, and you'll be able to match SMGs up close with the improved rate of fire.
In terms of perks for the XM4 BO6 build, using this many attachments means you'll be limited to three as you will require the Gunfighter wildcard. So, we advise using three of the same perks to get the added benefits.
Because of this, although Recon is still powerful, consider using Enforcer instead. You're going to be running around killing everything in your path, so Scavenger as well as the regen boost will come in handy.
Another meta AR in Black Ops 6 is the AK-74, and yes, it has also been banned by pros.
For the AK, we recommend a much slower playstyle due to it's slower rate of fire, so our AK-74 best loadout will be representative of this.
In Black Ops 6, the AK-74 packs a punch, but it can kick like a mule. Therefore, the best attachments for the AK-74 in Black Ops 6 are ones that aim to reduce it's recoil, such as the Vertical Grip, Ported Compensator, and the Recoil Springs.
Elsewhere in the AK-74 best build you should be using the Quickdraw Grip because ADS speed is always important, as well as either an Extended Mag or optic based on your preference.
However, if you would like to have both and use Gunfighter, you may then want to also add on a Reinforced Barrel just to maximise the AK-74s already impressive damage capabilities.
Finally, to complete your AK-74 best build, consider using the Balanced Stock for the increased movement speed.
The next gun on our list of the best Assault Rifle loadouts in Black Ops 6 is the final Assault Rifle banned by the pros, the Model L.
Another gun that is an absolute laser beam just like the XM4, the Model L can be extremely powerful without using a massive amount of attachments, however, we will add extra suggestions for if you are to use it with the Gunfighter Wildcard.
In terms of the best attachments for the Model L, the number one is without a doubt the Reinforced Barrel. The Model L is an incredibly strong gun at all ranges, and the Reinforced Barrel makes it even better.
Although we said the Model L is a laser, the next few attachments will all be focused on further reducing recoil, making sure that you can be consistently effective at mid to long ranges as you excel in a slower playstyle.
With that said, for you Model L loadout use the Ported Compensator, Recoil Springs, and Vertical Grip, all of which will reduce your recoil to absolute zero at longer ranges.
If you aren't using Gunfighter, the final attachment to consider is the Quickdraw Grip, because ADS speed is always important and even more so now that omni-movement is a thing.
If you are, add any optic and magazine attachment of your choice, as well as the Balanced Stock.
What about the Assault Rifle the pros are using in Black Ops 6? For that, you need the AMES 85.
The AMES 85 is a fast firing Assault Rifle with minimum recoil, so for this Black Ops 6 meta Assault Rifle build, we'll be going without the use of Gunfighter to make a loadout that will also serve as the best for Black Ops Ranked Play.
As an AR player your job will be to anchor spawns and take fights at longer ranges, so the best attachments for the AMES 85 are a reflective of that.
For that reason, your two main priorities should be reducing your time to kill and recoil over range, so the first two attachments you should use are the Ported Compensator and Reinforced Barrel.
The final three attachments in the meta AMES 85 build concern grips and the optic. For the optic, use whatever you feel suits you best, but the grips you should be using are the Ranger Foregrip and the Commando Grip.
These two Grips both aim to improve your handling, which will come up big when you're faced with some of the fast moving SMGs in the game.
