We all know that PUBG is all about survival, strategy, and shooting. But there’s a lot more to it than just running around and hoping for the best.
If you want to play like a pro, here are five essential tips that can seriously help you get there.
One of the most important things you can do in PUBG is learn how to move properly. You might think it’s just about running and gunning, but the way you move in the game can make a huge difference. First off, make sure you’re not sprinting all the time.
While sprinting can get you from point A to point B quickly, it also makes a lot of noise and makes you an easier target. Instead, use a mix of walking and crouch walking. Crouch walking reduces your noise and makes you harder to spot.
Another thing to consider is your movement when you’re in combat. A lot of players make the mistake of staying in one spot while they’re fighting. If you’re just standing there, it’s way easier for enemies to hit you.
Use the “strafe” technique to make yourself a harder target. This means moving left and right while shooting instead of just standing still.
Looting in PUBG is a bit of an art, and it’s definitely something you’ll get better at with time. The first thing you need to do while looting is grab a weapon. Even if it's just a pistol or a shotgun, it’ll give you some defense while you loot the rest of the area.
You will also want to carry at least a few first aid kits, bandages, and painkillers or energy drinks. The more healing items you have, the longer you can survive when things go south.
But here's the trick: don't loot too much. It’s tempting to pick up every shiny item, but if you overload your backpack, you’ll be stuck with too much stuff that you don’t really need.
If you’re not using headphones while playing, you’re definitely missing out in PUBG. The ability to hear footsteps, gunshots, and vehicles from far away can give you a huge advantage over other players.
For example, if you hear footsteps nearby, you know there’s an enemy close, and you can react accordingly. If you hear a car or a bike, you’ll want to know if it's coming towards you or passing by.
If it’s approaching, you might need to find a new spot to hide or start preparing for a fight.
It's tempting to go after every player you see, but sometimes, playing the zone is way more important.
The blue zone is constantly shrinking, and if you’re stuck in it for too long, it’ll take a huge chunk of your health. That’s why you should always be aware of where the zone is and plan your movements accordingly.
If you’re always one step ahead of the blue zone, you can avoid unnecessary fights and put yourself in better positions to pick off enemies as they scramble to get into the safe area.
When the final circles start to shrink, players are usually rushing in from all directions, making it easier to pick them off when they’re distracted or exposed.
Not every fight in PUBG needs to end with you getting a kill. In fact, sometimes, it’s better to just avoid combat. PUBG is all about survival, and fighting when you’re at a disadvantage can quickly get you killed.
So, the next time you’re in a firefight and you realize you’re outgunned or outnumbered, don’t hesitate to run. It’s totally okay to retreat and live to fight another day.
On the flip side, knowing when to fight is just as important. Don’t just shoot at everything that moves. Make sure you’re in a good position, with decent cover and enough ammo to last. You don’t need to engage every player you see.
Sometimes, letting the enemy come to you or even waiting for them to make a mistake is the best play. Always take a second to assess your situation and ask yourself, "Can I win this fight?"
