Chained Together
Chained Together is the ultimate friends gaming experience. You’ll have a lot of emotions with this one. Sure, you’ll laugh quite a bit, but you’ll also get frustrated with one another even more.
Chained Together comes from the makers of Only Up. It’s a platformer where you’re chained to up to three other players as you attempt to climb the entire map in one shot. If you fall, you start where you landed. It’s an incredibly unforgiving game.
Although it’s incredibly frustrating to fall because one of your friends isn’t pulling their weight, completing the challenge is incredibly rewarding. Be warned, though: you probably aren’t going to make it in your first session unless all of you are god gamers or you spend a solid eight hours trying.
Among Us
Among Us is the classic funny game to play with friends. It was the darling game of the pandemic and remains fun to this day. Not much has changed in Among Us - it’s still one of the most entertaining games to play with friends.
A lot of people got burnt out on Among Us after 2020, but it’s been a while now. There’s no reason not to go back and give it another try. If you’re all on PC, you can also download mods to make the experience even more enjoyable and fresh.
Pummel Party
Pummel Party is, essentially, Mario Party without the Mario characters. Like Mario Party, it’s a board game format with mini-games in between rounds. Instead of stars, you’re searching for goblets. Other than that, the gameplay loop is very similar to Mario Party.
One of the good parts about Pummel Party over Mario Party is that it isn’t locked to the Switch. Although the Switch is a popular console, not all of your friends likely have one. Pummel Party is available on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation - and for a fraction of the price.
Lethal Company
Lethal Company is the latest game to fill the friends gaming gap left by Among Us, and it’s clear to see why. It’s a unique game, standing apart from similar titles in the space.
Lethal Company is technically a cooperative horror game, but it’s also a funny game to play with friends. You’ll be dying of laughter at your friends screaming at jump-scares as they try to traverse the procedurally generated maps.
As far as gameplay goes, your goal is to land your ship, loot alien worlds, and live to sell your wares in the end. You can make it quite far on some playthroughs, while others will have you team-wiping on your first “easy mode” planet.
Jackbox Party Pack
Jackbox Party Pack offers more of a “game night” feeling than some of the other entries on this list, but it still offers a long list of funny games to play with friends. As the name suggests, Jackbox offers a pack of games rather than just one. Each pack comes with five games, so you and your friends can select which ones you like the best.
The good news here is that only one person needs to buy Jackbox for all of you to play. They can stream their screen while the other players use Jackbox.tv to play along. You can also buy each game as a stand-alone entity rather than the whole pack of games.
Gang Beasts
Gang Beasts can be one of the most entertaining games to play with friends. It’s a derpy wrestling/fighting game in which players throw wild punches, pull hair, and throw one another off of a variety of maps in an attempt to be the last one standing.
It really isn’t much more complicated than that. It’s a funny button-mashing game that’s easy enough to pick up and play. It isn’t that deep and probably won’t provide you with hours upon hours of playtime, but it’s certainly a funny game to play with friends once in a while.
Sea of Thieves
Sea of Thieves is a more serious game than the rest of the entries on this list, but it still has its hilarious moments throughout. You play as a team of pirates, sailing the seas, looting chests, and fighting other player-run ships that you encounter.

Ultimate Chicken Horse
Ultimate Chicken Horse is a unique, funny platforming game to play with friends. You can compete against other players as each of you attempts to make it to the other side of the level.
The twist here is that each opponent selects and places an obstacle at the start of each round. This can either work for you or against you, as your own obstacle may be the reason you fall.
This is another lighthearted friends gaming experience that you don’t need to take too seriously. Although, everyone has that one friend who will flip out when they lose every round.
Mount Your Friends
Mount Your Friends is a strangely addicting and sneakily difficult game that, as the name suggests, requires you to mount your friends. In each round, a player sets the height requirement by climbing on top of the existing structure. You will then have to beat the high score or will lose - it’s that simple.
Although the game is simple enough to understand, the mechanics are annoyingly wonky and complicated. That’s by design, as it takes a fair amount of skill to climb the increasingly high tower of bodies to reach the top and avoid a loss.
