The Dota 2 TI13 North America & South America qualifiers are just around the corner with teams fighting for a spot for The International 2024 (TI 2024). Here’s everything you need on the qualifiers: teams, schedule, location, format and more.
The road to The International 2024 (TI13) begins in North America on June 3rd, 2024. Aspiring Dota 2 teams can prove their mettle through a two-phase qualifier system. Uninvited teams battle through the Open Qualifiers for a chance to join the Closed Qualifiers, where 3 teams await.
Open Qualifier #1 & #2:
Five teams from the Open Qualifiers will join the three invited teams in the TI13 North America Closed Qualifiers.
North America Closed Qualifiers:
The TI13 North America Closed Qualifiers will have eight teams competing for a single spot for The International 2024 (TI 2024). It’s a stark downgrade for North America with its number of representatives for TI going significantly down.
The road to The International 2024 (TI13) begins in South America on June 5th, 2024. Aspiring Dota 2 teams can prove their mettle through a two-phase qualifier system. Uninvited teams battle through the Open Qualifiers for a chance to join the Closed Qualifiers, where 6 teams await.
South America Open Qualifier #1 & #2:
Six teams from the Open Qualifiers will join the six invited teams in the TI13 South America Closed Qualifiers.
South America Closed Qualifiers:
The TI13 South America Closed Qualifiers will have twelve teams competing for two spots for The International 2024 (TI 2024). It’s at least one spot more than their compatriots from the North.
Teams list for the TI13 North America (NA) qualifiers:
The International 2024 (TI 2024) has only one reservation spot for North America. Once home to the TI5 champions, NA finds itself in a difficult spot, with the region vying to reestablish itself as a powerhouse.
With zero direct invites at TI13, NA Dota 2 teams will engage in an intense battle to secure a spot at the crown jewel Dota 2 event.
Shopify Rebellion and Nouns have been constants in the NA scene and have been invited to the closed qualifiers. La Correntada is also invited to the closed qualifiers, but little is known about this mysterious team.
Nonetheless, one can expect Shopify Rebellion to qualify for TI13, considering their performances in the NA domestic circuit for a while.
However, it’s the TI qualifiers, and anything is possible.
Teams list for the TI13 South America (SA) qualifiers:
Boom Esports and Heroic have a higher chance to qualify, considering their recent surge in form and exposure to international LAN events, with bastions of earlier years, beastcoast, trying to power through their struggles.
While Midas Club has known South American names in its fold and has the potential to cause an upset, which is least likely to happen, it is Leviatan who is the dark horse. With household names like kpii and Xepher in the mix, the team will be a detriment to others, as they punch a lot of firepower.
The battle to conquer the two spots via TI13 South America (SA) qualifiers will be intense, and one can expect the games to be long (farm-oriented) and entertaining (aggressive).
Details on the format and exact schedule for TI13 North America (NA) and South America (SA) qualifiers still need to be revealed. Although the schedule will be available once the open qualifiers are over, the format is likely similar to past TI qualifiers.
The format is likely to be the following:
