Heroic becomes the first South American Dota 2 team to qualify for The International 2024 (TI 2024) through the TI13 South America Regional Qualifiers in an unbeaten run, securing the first of the two available spots for the crown jewel event.
Heroic’s journey in the TI13 South American Regional Qualifiers can be summarized in one word: dominance. With two spots up for grabs for The International (TI), Heroic has safely secured the first spot with relative ease.
They played two series against Fantasy Gaming and Leviatan before facing beastcoast in the upper bracket final of the regional qualifiers. Each subsequent series was relatively easier than the prior, with the finals being a cakewalk against long-time South American staple, beastcoast.
Heroic’s average time to end a game in the TI13 South America Regional Qualifiers is 30 minutes, showing no mercy to their opponents and strongly solidifying its presence as one of the new torchbearers in the region.
Beascoast drops to the lower bracket final where they get another shot at securing the last spot for The International 2024 (TI13). It awaits the winner between Boom Esports vs. Cuyes Esports from the lower bracket semi-final.
Boom Esports, in particular, has been on a roll starting their journey from the lower bracket and besting notable teams like Leviatan and Infinity. They are a serious contender for the second TI13 SA spot and an adversary beastcoast hasn’t met yet.
Which team will secure the second spot? Beastcoast, Boom Esports or Cuyes Esports? We’ll know the result later today.
Heroic’s qualification for The International 2024 (TI13) marks the organization’s debut at the crown jewel event after it decided to venture into the Dota 2 esports scene by sponsoring a South American team.
Qualifying for TI is a milestone for any organization, especially a new entrant in the competitive circuit.
After securing their spot at TI13, Heroic will start preparing for the Riyadh Masters 2024, slated to begin in July, as a testing ground with more than 50% of TI attendees competing. It’ll be good practice for the South American team and an excellent opportunity for them to theory craft, analyse and develop a meta of their own.
