Day 2 of the Riyadh Masters 2024 saw a strong showing from European teams, with OG, Team Spirit, Tundra Esports, and Entity leading the pack in the group stage.
The European quartet's dominant performance has set the stage for what appears to be a normal day at the office for the strongest Dota 2 region in the game.
OG and Team Spirit lead the pack in Group A of the Riyadh Masters 2024 group stage at the end of day 2 despite playing only one series each.
SEA powerhouse Blacklist International and European behemoth Gaimin Gladiators jointly trail on the third position after drawing their series against LGD Gaming and Team Spirit respectively. Heroic and LGD are also placed third but find themselves in the bottom half of the table owing to the tiebreaker rules.
However, the disappointment of the day is the tournament favourites Falcons sharing the bottom spot with Aurora as the two teams engaged in a ferocious battle against the other in the only series they played. Falcons' losing streak comes to an end as they handily beat Aurora to secure their first win.
However, with only four series remaining for each team, the competition will only get intense, especially on Day 3 of the Riyadh Masters 2024 Group Stage.
This group is no different as Europe once again leads the pack with Tundra and Entity securing their spots on top at the end of Day 2 of the Riyadh Masters 2024 Group Stage. However, their only series came against each other with Tundra getting the better of the compatriots.
Xtreme Gaming makes its way to the top half of the table as it occupies the second position along with Entity. XG beat BetBoom team despite being on the back foot with Ame’s performance being the highlight of the series. They also secure a draw against PSG Quest in the next series.
BetBoom and Team Liquid share the 4th spot with Team Liquid drawing every series until now. Beastcoast and PSG Quest share the 6th spot whereas Mouz is placed last. These teams need to come up with answers rather quickly to avoid starting in the lower bracket, or worse yet, getting eliminated.
Day 3 of the Riyadh Masters group stage will most likely see Europe dominating its pole position as the leaders of the tournament with China trying to make a breakthrough. It’ll also witness an epic battle between SEA and South America to avoid relegation to the lower bracket or being eliminated.
