PGL Esports has revealed the direct invites for the PGL Wallachia Season 3. Eight Dota 2 teams have received the direct invite whilst the remaining eight slots will be decided through the regional closed qualifiers.
Here’s the list of eight teams which have received direct invites for PGL Wallachia Season 3:
The West European region has received the most invites for PGL’s flagship Dota 2 tournament, while East Europe, Southeast Asia, South America, and China each received one direct invite. These teams will not have to go through the online qualifiers to seal their berth at the event.
The closed qualifiers hosted in various regions will determine the remaining eight slots. Let’s take a look at how the slots have been distributed:
Given the region's strength and prowess over the past couple of years, West Europe and East Europe will have the maximum number of participants qualifying for the PGL Wallachia Season 3. Meanwhile, SEA, South America, North America and China will have only one team each qualifying through the closed qualifiers.
One should also take note of North America’s dwindling fortunes. The region didn't receive a direct invite and got only one slot through the qualifiers. Only one Dota 2 team from North America will represent the region at the tournament.
PGL Wallachia Season 3 will be held between March 8-16, 2025 with $1,000,000 up for grabs.
