OG has revealed its new Dota 2 lineup for the next season, with BZM, the only remaining player from OG 2.0, being dropped from the team. While the new lineup seems promising, it could be a temporary solution as OG continues to build its 2024-2025 roster.
Three players have been retained while two new players join the fray to complete OG’s new Dota 2 lineup for the upcoming season. OG’s co-founder, captain and two-time TI champion Ceb will continue to guide the team as its position five.
OG's other core of Ari and Wisper remains intact, but the fresh recruits promise a new era for the team. 23 and Nine join OG to complete its Dota 2 roster. 23 previously played for Aurora and finished in the top eight at The International 2024, however, he parted ways with them ahead of the new season.
Meanwhile, Nine returns to the competitive landscape after a nearly one-year hiatus. The German established himself as one of the top midlaners in Europe and would eventually win the biggest title in Dota 2 esports – The International 2022.
Nine previously played for Tundra Esports before taking a break after the team’s dismal performance at The International 2023. However, he later stood in for Falcons Esports at PGL Wallachia Season 1 back in May and looked in prime form.
The OG 2.0 era has officially ended. BZM, the team’s only remaining player from that iteration has been benched, marking an end to one of the most exciting rebuilds post the Covid-19 era.
BZM joined OG in 2021 after the two-time TI champion roster disbanded. He has been part of OG’s journey ever since, tasting success and failures, and being the team’s pillar. However, for every new beginning, there is an end.
Unfortunately, OG’s new beginning heralds the end of BZM’s time at the legendary esports organisation. He bids farewell to the team as he gets benched while his future remains uncertain.
OG’s new roster will debut at the BetBoom Dacha and DreamLeague qualifiers scheduled to begin later this week.
