Team Liquid and BetBoom Team’s journey at BLAST Slam III has ended, as both teams have been eliminated. Team Spirit defeated Team Liquid in a thrilling best-of-three series that saw constant exchange of blows, especially in the first game of the elimination series.
While Team Liquid had gained a significant lead over the Eastern European counterparts, Team Spirit, on the back of some decisive team fights and pick-offs, turned the tide in its favour and registered victory.
However, Liquid bounced back strong in the second game and decimated Spirit with outstanding performances from Nisha and Micke, especially the latter, who went 17:1 on Nature’s Prophet – one of the most broken heroes in patch 7.38c.
The third game was a disaster for Team Liquid as all three cores of Team Spirit – Yatoro, Larl and Collapse heavily outfarmed their opponents. Liquid’s strategy did not pan out, while Spirit walked away with a series win, thus eliminating Team Liquid from BLAST Slam III.
The second series of the day proved to be unexpectedly decisive. Despite being the favourites, BetBoom Team found themselves on the receiving end of a swift 2-0 defeat. Aurora Gaming secured two rapid victories, eliminating BetBoom from the tournament.
Aurora’s overall gameplay was far better than BetBoom, as the difference was noticeable between the teams’ performance.
The third day of BLAST Slam III resumes with two more series to be played. Parivision will face Team Spirit in the first series, while Xtreme Gaming will face Aurora in the second series. Stay tuned to BLAST for the latest tournament updates.
