The group stage for the Fissure Playground #1 has concluded with eight teams advancing to the playoffs while the remaining teams were eliminated. Notable names like Gaimin Gladiators, AVULUS and Xtreme Gaming have also been eliminated.
Here’s the list of teams who have qualified for the Fissure Playground #1 Playoffs:
The abovementioned teams have advanced to the playoffs while the remaining teams have been eliminated from the Dota 2 tournament.
BetBoom and Heroic have been unstoppable as they go undefeated in the group stage. BetBoom had a relatively easier group stage with Team Liquid being the only notable team they defeated, while Heroic had tougher opponents to face, namely, Team Falcons, Aurora and Team Spirit. Both teams went 3:0 to top the group.
Parivision, Team Falcons and Team Spirit each secured a 3:1 score in the group stage while Talon Esports, Team Liquid and Tundra Esports survived the group stage by the skin of their teeth and barely managed to advance to the playoffs with a 3:2 score.
These eight teams will now compete in a double-elimination bracket in the playoffs, all starting in the upper bracket, and inching a step closer to victory. The losers will drop to the lower bracket and will have to fight for survival at every step from thereon.
Gaimin Gladiators’ woes don’t seem to end as the giants continue to struggle in the new year. They have a disappointing run again with the new roster not showing any signs of progress and being significantly out of the loop with the meta. As a result, they were eliminated from the tournament.
It’s a terrible day for China and North American Dota 2 fans. Xtreme Gaming, Yakult Brother’s, Shopify Rebellion and Wildcard have been eliminated from the Fissure Playground #1. It was a dismal showing for both regions as they found it difficult to navigate through the troubled waters.
Meanwhile, Avulus and Aurora have also been eliminated alongside Chimera Esports. Aurora’s long-standing position as Southeast Asia’s best team is up for contention with Talon Esports stepping up and challenging the status quo. Avulus and Chimera have also not fared any better as both teams ended up bowing out of the tournament.
