Day 1 of The International 2024 (TI13) has concluded with Europe and China taking the lead. Team Liquid, Team Spirit, Xtreme Gaming and Team Zero performed well while Southeast Asia (SEA), South America (SA) and North America (NA) as a whole disappointed the fans.
Here’s a quick recap of Day 1 of The International 2024 (TI13) group stage:
Xtreme Gaming is off to a great start on the first day of The International 2024 (TI13) group stage. They register clean wins against Heroic and Gaimin Gladiators and sit atop the ladder. The Chinese Dota 2 team, despite being at a deficit during the games, decisively won team fights and mounted an excellent comeback.
Gaimin Gladiators is in second place. Their first series of the day against 1win was an easy feat but its series against Xtreme Gaming proved fatal as they lost both games. 1win and Heroic are the laggards as their only wins are against each other.
Cloud9 is the topper on Day 1 of The International 2024 (TI13) group stage. They played only one series against G2.iG and won both games, thus catapulting them to the top of the table. G2.iG is second having won and lost one series each.
In the meantime, Talon Esports and Tundra Esports are at the bottom with the former having played two series and the latter having played only one. The series between Tundra vs. Talon was splendid to watch especially Topson’s Nature Prophet in game 1 and Talon’s exceptional team play in game 2.
Team Zero picked up right where they left off and took the lead in Group C at the end of Day 1 of The International 2024 (TI13) group stage. They tied against Team Falcons, one of the tournament favourites, and won against BetBoom Team, thus taking the pole position.
BetBoom and Team Falcons are tied for second place with their even score while Nouns are lagging in the last place. However, nouns’ second game against Team Falcons displayed their potential and might get better as the tournament progresses.
Team Liquid and Team Spirit are tied for first place at the end of Day 1 of The International 2024 (TI13) group stage. Liquid and Spirit’s victories against Aurora and Beastcoast send a strong message to other teams about their intentions.
They are here to stay and slay as they lead Europe to the top at the crown jewel Dota 2 event. However, the same cannot be said for Aurora and Beastcoast as both teams look shaky with their dismal performance.
Day 2 of the group stage for the Road to The International 2024 (TI13) will decide the matchups for the seeding bracket. The seeding bracket will set the tone for the playoffs with the winners starting in the upper bracket and the losers starting in the lower bracket.
