The Playoffs are set for DreamLeague Season 23 as the group stage for the penultimate stepping stone for the 2024 Riyadh Masters comes to an end.
Here’s a quick recap of how DreamLeague Season 23 Group Stage Day 3 unfolded:
One of the best Dota 2 teams in the world, Gaimin Gladiators, has aptly proven why they are a force to be reckoned with. The European team has secured a first-place finish in Group A of the DreamLeague Season 23 Group Stage.
They haven’t lost a series, despite dropping two games, and will face Tundra Esports in the playoffs opener.
After a dismal start, the Chinese Dota 2 team quickly bounced back to find their groove and placed second in Group A.
They quickly found their groove after losing a series against Gaimin Gladiators and went on to win the remaining series, barring a tie against Team Liquid. They face Team Falcons in the upper bracket on the first day of the DreamLeague Season 23 Playoffs
They are the tournament favourites and look ready to quench their thirst for another Dota 2 trophy.
Besides tying their lone series against Shopify Rebellion, Falcons won every series convincingly and have cemented their place in the upper bracket with a first-place finish in Group B
The European Dota 2 team looks reinvigorated following Ramzes’ inclusion, displaying pure aggression and unique drafts.
They stand second in Group B and will get more opportunities to express themselves in the coming days. On a serious note, they might just surprise everyone and emerge as the title contenders.
The lone SEA representative will start their DreamLeague Season 23 Playoffs journey from the lower bracket. However, under the current circumstances with their gameplay being erratic at best, the road looks long and hard with an inevitable end in sight.
They are the second Chinese team heading into the DreamLeague Season 23 Playoffs but will start their journey from the lower bracket.
Azure Ray’s journey has been torrid with a single series win against BetBoom, losing two and tying two series, and luckily ending up qualifying for the playoffs. Things look grim and their chances of making inroads further in the tournament seem near impossible.
The only CIS team to qualify for the playoffs, BetBoom has fared relatively poorly with an underwhelming display of performance. Both their wins came against weaker Dota 2 teams as they fumbled against superior ones. Nonetheless, they start from the lower bracket.
Heroic had to undergo a gruelling tiebreaker to clinch the last remaining spot for the playoffs. The series was pretty straightforward as Heroic scooped the rug from down under and made their way to the lower bracket.
Shopify Rebellion disappoints yet again. The North American Dota 2 team seems to show any signs of improvement. They exit DreamLeague Season 23 in last place.
NAVI, PSG Quest and Team Liquid are the other three teams going home without showing any interesting games.
