The above 16 teams have been invited to compete in the Dota 2 Elite League Season 2. Tundra Esports and PSG Quest were part of the original invite list but were replaced by Cuyes Esports and Fusion due to visa issues.
Elite League Season 2 Format
The format of Elite League Season 2 is divided into three phases – Swiss Stage (Group Stage 1), Round-Robin Stage (Group Stage 2) and the Playoffs.
Here’s the complete details of the format:
- Swiss Stage (Group Stage 1)
- July 25 to July 27, 2024
- One modified Swiss system of 16 teams
- Bo3 matches
- The top 8 teams advance to the next stage
- The remaining teams are eliminated
- Round-Robin Stage (Group Stage 2)
- July 28 to July 31, 2024
- One round-robin group of 8 teams
- Bo2 matches
- The top 4 teams advance to Playoffs upper bracket
- The bottom 4 teams advance to Playoffs lower bracket
- Playoffs
- August 2 to August 4, 2024
- Double elimination bracket
- All matches Bo3
- Grand Finals is Bo5
The event will be held offline in Lima, Peru at the ESAN Centro de Convenciones.
Elite League Season 2 Prize Pool
The Dota 2 Elite League Season 2 prize pool is a whopping $800,000. However, an additional $200,000 will be distributed to the participating teams in proportion to their viewership during the main event.
