North American esports giant Cloud9 has announced its return to Dota 2 after a four-year hiatus by acquiring the entire roster of Entity in a sudden turn of events.
This signing comes as a surprise for the Dota 2 fans, especially for Entity fans, who have been rooting for the team after their fabulous run through the TI13 regional qualifiers and at the recently concluded Riyadh Masters 2024.
Cloud9 has bought out the entirety of Entity’s Dota 2 roster along with the support staff. Henceforth, the team will be coined as C9BC.Game Dota 2, courtesy of joining hands with BC.Game.
Here’s the Cloud9 Dota 2 roster for TI13:
Under Entity’s banner, the squad has been a consistent force in the Dota 2 scene for the past two years. While their most recent outing at the Riyadh Masters 2024 ended abruptly in the first round of the lower bracket, they displayed exceptional skill in the group stages.
Cloud9’s last major tier-1 appearance was at The International 2017 where the team landed at the bottom of the table in 13th-16th place. The organization shuttered its Dota 2 division in 2020 during the Covid-19 days.
Interestingly, that roster housed names like Ace and Sneyking – two players who are currently in the best Dota 2 teams in the world. Ace just won the Riyadh Masters 2024 with Gaimin Gladiators whilst Sneyking has won The International with Tundra Esports and now is successfully captaining Team Falcons’ dominant run in the scene.
Cloud9’s return to Dota 2 signifies a renewed commitment to the competitive scene. This roster offers a promising glimpse into the future with a talented stack of roster and has the potential to challenge for the biggest titles in Dota 2.
