The first two semifinalists of BLAST Slam IV: Singapore have been decided, as Team Falcons and Tundra Esports claim the top seeds in the group stage. Both teams will head to the iconic Singapore Indoor Stadium for the next phase of the tournament.
Team Falcons and Tundra Esports carried their good momentum from the initial phase of the tournament, securing their spots in the semifinals of BLAST Slam IV: Singapore. Tundra Esports secured first place, while Team Falcons settled with second place – both ending the group stage with a 9:2 score.
Both teams appear to have a strong understanding of the current patch and have seemingly grasped the meta quite well. Their gameplays, execution and team cohesion is a step ahead compared to other participating teams.
Tundra’s losses came against Aurora and Aureus, whereas Falcons’ losses came against HEROIC and Tundra Esports. Nonetheless, by securing the top two spots, both Tundra and Falcons have punched their tickets directly to the semifinals, and are headed to the iconic Singapore Indoor Stadium to compete in BLAST Slam’s first-ever LAN tournament.
On the other hand, six teams are headed to the Play In stage of the tournament. They are:
HEROIC’s strong momentum continues as they narrowly miss out on a semifinal spot. Nonetheless, their performance throughout the group stage has been exciting. Their dynamic gameplay has been refreshing to see, regardless of how the plays might have ultimately unfolded.
Team Spirit, MOUZ, Natus Vincere and Aurora Gaming have also performed decently, but need an extra push to drive through the finish line. However, Team Aureus is carrying Southeast Asia’s hope in a surprisingly pleasant way. They have made it to the Play In, but it’ll be interesting to see how things unfold for the emerging SEA giants.
Four teams: Team Liquid, Yakult Brothers, BetBoom Team, and Execration, are set to battle it out in the Last Chance Playoffs for the final two Play-In spots. Only two teams will advance, while the other two get eliminated.
However, the Play-In stage kicks off immediately after the Last Chance Playoffs conclude, and by the end of the day, four more teams will be eliminated. Overall, a total of six teams will be sent home today, without getting a chance to perform in front of a live audience.
The subsequent outcome will also determine the top six teams locked in for the BLAST Slam IV: Singapore playoffs.
