BLAST Slam II: Talon Esports and Xtreme Gaming are eliminated

The first day of the BLAST Slam II Playoffs resulted in two eliminations. Talon Esports and Xtreme Gaming were the first casualties of the tournament, losing to Parivision and BetBoom Team, and bidding adieu to their dreams of lifting the trophy.

Talon Esports and Xtreme Gaming eliminated

The first series of the day started with the lone Southeast Asian (SEA) team Talon Esports going up against the formidable Parivision. The first game of the series was heavily one-sided as Parivision made quick work of Talon and dominated the game throughout, not giving the latter any room to mount a comeback.

The second game fared better as both teams kept trading blows. At one point, it seemed as if Talon was about to make a comeback, but Parivision’s crucial decision-making turned the tide of the game in its favour, thus denying Talon to tie the game and head to a decider. The series ended with SEA’s lone hope Talon Esports being eliminated from BLAST Slam II with a 0:2 score.

The second series between the defending Slam champions BetBoom Team and Xtreme Gaming was similar to the first series. The first game saw a dominant Gpk on Lina crushing through XG’s defense and wreaking havoc. Though the game lasted beyond 40 minutes, XG didn’t get a single chance to close the gap, let alone win the game, and lost to a formidable BetBoom.

The second game was much quicker with BetBoom Team deciding to not bleed XG by a thousand cuts. They rather ensured to end XG’s suffering quickly and stomped through the Chinese wall to win the series with a 2:0 score.

BLAST Slam II: Two more eliminations today

Parivision and BetBoom Team advance to the next round as they face Team Liquid and Team Falcons, respectively. Parivision’s next challenge will be against a stronger opponent than the one they faced earlier, that too in the first elimination series of the day. Can Parivision defeat Team Liquid or will the latter dominate and cruise ahead?

The second elimination series will take place between BetBoom Team and Team Falcons. Team Falcons are currently on a roll and it’ll be a mistake to take them lightly. But looking at BetBoom’s form in the earlier elimination series, anything is possible. Who will win between these two giants?
