The second day of the BLAST Slam II Playoffs witnessed close encounters between four Dota 2 teams. With elimination on the line, Parivision and Team Falcons prevailed over Team Liquid and BetBoom Team, respectively, thus advancing to the quarterfinals.
As a result, Team Liquid and the defending BLAST Slam champions have been eliminated from the tournament. Let’s take a quick look at how things fared!
Parivision prevailed over Team Liquid in a series that went all the way to three games. However, the encounter wasn’t as close as anticipated. In the first game, Parivision decimated Team Liquid and crushed the latter in a one-sided affair.
While all cores of Parivision performed well, it was Dukalis’ Phoenix on the pos5 that stole the spotlight. He went 11:1 as a support, out-farming the majority of Team Liquid’s players, barring Micke, and handing them a humbling defeat.
Team Liquid bounced back equally strong in the second game, thanks to Saberlight’s display of dominance on his signature hero, Dark Seer, as he went 15:4, thus enabling his team to take advantage of the situation and equal the series.
However, the decider game, akin to the first game, was a complete disaster for Team Liquid. Satanic and Noone stomped through Liquid’s defense, leaving the latter helpless and in dire situation. The damage was already done before Liquid could mount a comeback and ended up losing the series, thus getting eliminated from BLAST Slam II.
Team Falcons faced the defending BLAST Slam champion BetBoom Team in the second elimination series. The first game went into BetBoom’s favour as they narrowly edged out Falcons in a close-knit encounter. Despite the win, the difference wasn’t much between both teams, and Falcons still looked better than their foes.
The remainder of the series saw a complete flip from Falcons as they changed gears and decided to take matters into their own hands. Turn by turn, every player of Team Falcons contributed and stole the spotlight in the next two games.
Team Faclons’ diverse talent shone through, with ATF and Malr1ne dominating the second game, followed by Skiter, Cr1t, and Sneyking's strategic brilliance in the second, ultimately outmaneuvering BetBoom Team.
BetBoom’s approach fell apart as Team Falcons cruised to victory and eliminated the defending BLAST Slam champions from the tournament.
