It’s a day of pure (no pun intended) joy for the BetBoom Team as they defeat Tundra Esports to win the BLAST Slam I championship. They overcome the unbeaten team in an epic grand final and push through the second-place curse, finally clinching their first trophy of the season.
BetBoom Team set up a grand final clash against Tundra Esports for the first-ever BLAST Slam I trophy. Both teams qualified directly to the semifinals, thanks to their insane performance in the group stage, defeating renowned teams and being the table toppers.
The best-of-five grand final turned out to be a nail-biting affair with BetBoom drawing first blood in game one. They won the first game on the back of a well-executed strategy revolving around the tri-core of Drow, Pangolier and Magnus. Unfortunately, Tundra’s offlane pick for Lycan did not pay off as it fell short of synergy.
The second game was a close contest. Both teams kept exchanging constant blows with neither team getting a substantial gold lead. The entirety of the match saw the gold graph being almost equal for both teams with Pure’s Morphling doing some serious damage. However, Nightfall’s Spectre proved lethal for BetBoom as one crucial team fight turned things around for Tundra as they won the second game.
With the series being equalised, both teams looked to hit the reset button. However, BetBoom was two steps ahead of the competition. Pure, Meiro and Gpk’s perfect and well-coordinated moves, alongside Save and Kataomi’s solid support from the backlines, was too much for Tundra to handle as they slowly lost grip of the series.
BetBoom Team clinches the inaugural BLAST Slam I Championship and secures their first Dota title of the season.
