Vitality take down Spirit to advance to grand final: BLAST Open Lisbon playoffs

Seemingly unstoppable at the moment, Vitality are through to their third grand final in a row after taking down Spirit at BLAST Open Lisbon.

It wasn't easy for them, Spirit managed to take map two with ease, but they held their composure to take the series in the third.

Vitality comfortable on Anubis

Despite ropz struggling on Anubis and registering just one kill in the first half, Vitality still pulled off a 9-3 lead from their T side.

Everything is just clicking for the IEM Katowice winners so far this year, and that's sometimes all you need to pull off clutches like this.

But that doesn't mean it was all sunshine and rainbows, we guess it just wasn't ropz's map.

13-6 at the end of the map, ropz struggled with four kills, but flameZ and ZywOo combined for 31 to take the map.

Spirit bounce back on Nuke

Spirit were down, but not out. The reigning Major champions pushed Vitality aside on Nuke, largely down to plays like this from zont1x.

9-3 once again at half time, chopper was instrumental in giving his team their big lead.

Comfortable for Spirit, sh1ro managed to pull off a knife on ZywOo in the second pistol round.

A quiet game from sh1ro all things considered, it was of course donk at the top of the scoreboard with a 19-8 statline.

Vitality take the series on Mirage

A map that could have gone either way, Mirage was also the closest in the series. Coming to a close at 13-10 in favour of Vitality, ropz bounced back from his poor first map to pick up 19 huge kills for Vitality on the final map.

However, it was sh1ro who started the map off with a huge play, cutting down Vitality as they attempted to take the A site.

It didn't take ropz long to come online, he pulled off an impressive clutch to get Vitality on the board.

But the Estonian still couldn't outdo ZywOo, the Frenchman popped up for his own clutch to give Vitality their seventh round.

7-5 in favour of Vitality at the half, Spirit managed to get themselves back in front at 9-8, but apEX was having none of it.

It didn't take Vitality long to wrap up the series from there, ZywOo closed out map three with an impressive 26-14 statline to send his team to their third final in a row.
