After an absolute banger of a final over in Australia, Vitality have become the fifth ESL Grand Slam winners following their victory against Falcons in IEM Melbourne.
A full five-map affair, Vitality had to comeback from 12-6 down on the deciding map, Nuke, to secure the game and trophy in triple OT.
They will now take home the $125,000 first-place prize for winning the event, as well as $1,000,000 for winning the Grand Slam.
A run that started in August last year with the win at IEM Cologne, Vitality have blitzed the remainder of their Grand Slam run, winning consecutive ESL tournaments at IEM Katowice, ESL Pro League Season 21, and IEM Melbourne.
The final tournament, Melbourne, was another dominant display from the world's number one team, they made it all the way to the grand final without dropping a single map.
However, things got a little more difficult for them in the final, the m0NESY-bolstered Falcons pushed them further than any team has before and looked very likely to nip them to the trophy at one point thanks to TeSeS' 105 kills in the final.
That said, Vitality have a star of their own, and when the lights shine brightest, ZywOo rarely disappoints. The Frenchmen put up a monstrous 110 kills in the grand final, recording a 1.34 rating and securing the 24th HLTV MVP award of his career.
Vitality will now be looking to solidify their era within Counter-Strike, which they will be in a great chance of doing if they can lift the trophy at the BLAST.tv Austin Major this June.
Before that, though, they will now head to the BLAST Studios in Copenhagen to play in BLAST Rivals, where they will meet seven more of the best teams in the world with each one looking to take their crown.
