We're now three games down on day two of BLAST Premier World Final 2024 and we've just enjoyed the second elimination game of the day.
Contested between Liquid and Vitality, many may have expected Liquid to get the better of the French organisation due to them playing with a stand-in, but it's the reigning champions who will be advancing to tomorrow's quarter-finals after a 2-1 win.
A close series, let's take a look at the action.
ultimate may be struggling for form in recent weeks, but as Liquid built up an early lead on their CT side, it was the Polish AWPer who came up big to defend the A site from the on-rushing Vitality.
6-6 at the half, Liquid once again broke away to make it 10-7, and Twistzz secured their eleventh with a 1v3.
13-10 when it was all said and done, the Liquid captain topped the scoreboard with a 18-13 statline.
Vitality hit back hard, storming to a 9-3 T half on Dust2.
They kept going on CT side, too. Stand-in star JACKZ pulled off a 1v2 in the second half pistol round to secure a tenth.
A clean sweep from there, flameZ and Spinx topped the Vitality scoreboard as they swept the map 13-3.
With the series coming down to a decider on Nuke, Vitality carried their momentum forward to take us into the half with an 8-4 advantage.
They extended that lead in the second half, and ZywOo pulled off an incredible 1v3 to win an eco round for Vitality.
Liquid almost managed to push the game to OT, but they eventually fell 13-11 as ZywOo's 23 kills and flameZ's 22 proved to be too much for them to handle.
