With GamerLegion bringing in Snax as their new IGL at the start of the year, the team has been taking their time and not overloading their schedule as they adjust to the style of their new legendary IGL.
Now back in tier one, they’ve already impressed at BLAST Rivals Fort Worth, picking up a huge upset win over FURIA on the opening day.
At the event, we sat down with Tauson to discuss the difference between Snax and ztr, the rumours of PR leaving, and the future of the GamerLegion roster.
This is the first tier one event for GamerLegion in a while. How is it to be getting back into the action?
We're feeling good, we've had a lot of practice to look back on our previous mistakes, so we're pretty confident to go against good teams again.
We haven't seen you guys play as much CS as some of the other teams around your level, was that an important thing for you to spend more time practicing considering the IGL change?
Yeah, it's always important to get a lot of practice in when the IGL changes, you need to get everyone on board with his ideas and what he wants. We're playing a completely different way than how we did with ztr, and it's not been a long process, but it definitely has been a process to get everyone on board with what Snax wants.

Is it more structured than before?
Yeah, it used to be a lot loose and down to players how we wanted to play, but now it's Snax's way. Of course, we can have our freedom and call some rounds, but there's more structure for sure.
Is that something you prefer?
I don't mind, to be honest, I like both. I'm pretty good at adapting to however a team is playing, and it's pretty easy to trust someone like Snax with the experience he has.
Do you think this more structured way of playing is something that benefits AWPers? hypex has improved a lot this year, but before Snax, AWPers had been struggling in GamerLegion for a while.
Yeah, hypex has been getting more comfortable in the team. There's more Polish in the lineup now, two players, two coaches, so maybe he's feeling a bit more at home now.
Maybe it's also because of the way we're playing that he's feeling more comfortable, but you can see it in the numbers that he's been playing really well lately.
What about PR? There was a lot of speculation about him at the start of the year, and some quotes suggested he may have been unsettled by that, how do you think he's feeling now that we're further into the year?
He's 100% committed to this project, I don't think he's thinking about anything other than playing for GamerLegion.
Is it something you're concerned might come back up after the Major?
It's CS, anything could happen after the Major. Maybe someone gets benched, maybe someone gets sold, it's a tough industry. I hope we can stay together, though, I really enjoy playing with this team.
