Onto our second elimination game of the day and it seems like karrigan will be the only Danish player to venture out into the Forum as Astralis have been knocked out by Spirit.
The event probably came too soon for Astralis, given the recent nature of the arrival of cadiaN, but they went out having put up a strong fight against the winners of BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024.
Although Astralis dominated Ancient, the map started off with zont1x pulling off a 1v2 against device and stavn.
Despite losing pistol, the Danes battled back to a 9-3 half. They then added the second half pistol to their tally thanks to shots like this from device.
Astralis won every round after that, closing out the map with ease at 13-3.
Spirit got off to a strong start on Dust2 with a four-round lead, but Astralis quickly got themselves back into the game and cadiaN made his presence felt.
However, for all his energy, Astralis failed to bring the game too close and Spirit soon found themselves at map point thanks to a quick donk 3k.
Spirit closed out the map 13-5, their young gun topped the board at 18-8.
Spirit kicked off Mirage with another pistol round win, but Staehr came up big to get Astralis on the board in round three.
Staehr was unfortunate in the next round though, donk ripped his head clean off as device missed the narrow window to kill him.
And yes, the shot was as good as it looked from device's POV.
Spirit may have gone into half time with a 7-5 lead, but that didn't stop sh1ro from being frustrated as device AWPed him from Connector.
Astralis battled back in the second half, and despite donk getting both men in a 3v2 retake, the Danes drew one round closer as he ran out of time to defuse.
Astralis managed to get themselves in the driving seat at 11-9, but four rounds on the bounce from Spirit saw them eliminate the Danes and advance to tomorrow's quarter-finals.
