FlyQuest and GamerLegion go 2-0: Shanghai Opening Stage round 2 recap
Day one of the Perfect World Shanghai Major has now come to an end and it came with some surprises.
If you missed the action earlier on in the day, we already made a recap of the first round, and we've got you covered for the 0-1 and 1-0 games, too.
We now know who will be battling it out to advance and to just stay in the competition, so let's go through the action.
Cloud9 handle fnatic with ease
fnatic began their day with a difficult loss against Wildcard, while Cloud9 suffered a loss against Liquid after the NA side made a comeback from 9-3 down.
fnatic's woes continued in their second game, they were easily pushed to the side by Cloud9 on Ancient.
ICY and Ax1Le both starred, the duo combined for 40 kills as they raced to a 13-5 win.

FlyQuest probably came into the Major as a likely 0-3 pick, but whoever put them 0-3 will now be regretting it.
After taking down Complexity earlier on in the day, they continued their hot streak with a 13-5 win against BIG on Nuke.
A fantastic performance by their captain, dexter topped the board with 20 kills to send his team to the 2-0 bracket.

The MongolZ entered the Opening Stage as the highest ranked team in the stage, and they haven't disappointed at all as they've recorded two clean wins.
A 13-6 on Ancient, the Mongolian team were comfortable against MIBR, and mzinho came up big with 20 kills.
They'll now have to face GamerLegion in their 3-0 game, with both teams looking to be in top form and set to have a banger.

Complexity really struggled in their opening game against FlyQuest and they didn't fare much better in their second game versus Passion UA.
The Ukrainian side were in fine form, jambo especially starred as he picked up 21 kills to put the hurt to the NA team.
A 13-9 win for Passion UA on Anubis, Complexity will now play for their tournament lives against Imperial tomorrow.

VP and Rare Atom both opened their accounts at the Major with big losses, but VP answered back with a big win against the hometown heroes.
Another disappointing result for Rare Atom, they fell 13-4 on Anubis thanks to fame's 20 kills.
Rare Atom will now play fnatic to keep their place in the Major.

Liquid were upset by Wildcard in the Americas RMR but they got their revenge today as they defeated them 13-10 on Inferno.
susp tried hard with his 22 kills, but he was powerless to prevent Liquid from winning the game as YEKINDAR and jks combined for 41 to send Liquid to the 2-0 bracket.
Liquid's next game will be against FkyQuest, where they'll have a chance to advance to the Elimination Stage with a clean sweep of games.

Well, it's not been a good day for Imperial in Brazilian derbies. They lost 13-5 to paiN earlier in the day and will now be in the 0-2 bracket thanks to a 13-11 loss at the hands of FURIA.
decenty and felps did combined for 36 kills, but it was FalleN and co. who proved to be more impactful as KSCERATO topped the scoreboard with 24 kills.
Imperial will now have to taken on Complexity if they hope to keep their Major dreams alive.

GamerLegion began their RMR with a 0-2 record, but they've now won their sixth game in a row to give themselves a 2-0 record in the Major itself.
A 13-10 win over paiN, GamerLegion were victorious on Nuke thanks to a top-fragging performance from sl3nd and some solid back up from FL4MUS and volt.
An incredible turnaround from GamerLegion, they'll be looking to continue their record and push themselves into the Elimination Stage.
