BLAST Rivals is almost here.
Eight of the best teams in the world will be descending on Copenhagen for the event, doing battle over a $350,000 prize pool.
There's a number of teams in with a good chance of winning the event, so who do the talent think are the biggest threats? We sat down with Pimp and voo ahead of the event to get their thoughts on the favourites and underdogs.
There's no surprises when it comes to the favourites for the event, both Pimp and voo listed Vitality as the big favourites for the event.
"There is no getting around that the obvious favorite is Vitality. They have looked super, duper solid ever since ropz joining. They are undisputed the best team in the world as of right now, and with them heading into Copenhagen like that, it's hard not to view them as the favourites." - Pimp
"Vitality is still clearly the best team in the world, while MOUZ and Spirit are fighting over who is second. You have the main teams in this event that are capable of taking Vitality down, but I'd still consider it surprising if they didn't win. The question is just how long they can keep it up." - voo
To keep up with the lack of surprises, both men also opted for MOUZ as their second pick as favourites.
"The only team who has been able to push Vitality is MOUZ, and they're equally a favorite to make it far in the tournament. Now there is no bad teams at Rivals, but MOUZ and Vitality seem better than the rest for now." - Pimp
"Individually it's hard to say MOUZ outpace Vitality, but if any team is going to consistently compete against them it's more likely to be MOUZ than Spirit. As time goes on, comments about whether their time with Spinx has been a honeymoon, and a win here would more than silence the remaining doubters." - voo
It seems Pimp and voo may have been colluding when putting together their answers for us, they both chose Falcons as the biggest underdogs for the event.
"The biggest underdog to me is Falcons. Signing m0NESY is a power move, and it's already paid off during IEM Melbourne in his first tournament. Anyone can lose to a NiKo and m0NESY firing on all cylinders, so watch out!" - Pimp
"It sounds crazy to say a team with NiKo and m0NESY are underdogs but, being realistic, compared to Spirit, Vitality, and MOUZ, they absolutely are. Underdogs or not, Falcons are likely to pick up some upsets in this event." - voo
We also asked our two trusty talent members to provide us with a bold prediction for the event, and they actually offered different answers this time around.
"The bold prediction would be Spirit winning the event. I think they're tired of not being considered the best or even second best team right now, so donk is coming in with a purpose. We all know what happens when he catches fire, I wouldn't wanna play against that!" - Pimp
"Falcons will show themselves as more than just firepower with a deep run at this event. A win might be too much to ask for, but this team will cement themselves firmly in the top four before the Major." - voo
