NAVI have added another trophy to their cabinet after beating Eternal Fire in the grand final of ESL Pro League Season 20.
It's the third trophy the Ukrainian organisation has won this year, after the PGL Major Copenhagen and the inaugural Esports World Cup.
The win sees the team take home $170,000, but more importantly, they will also re-affirm themselves as the best team in the world after losing that spot to Vitality following their loss to them in the final of IEM Cologne 2024.
A full best-of-five, the win sees Aleksib finally break his curse when it comes to competing in BO5 matches. Previously, the Finnish IGL had won just two maps in his last seven BO5s, a record that stretches all the way back to his time with ENCE.
It took the entire NAVI squad to take down Eternal Fire, the Turkish team had been on a historic run that saw them take down Vitality in the quarter-finals.
woxic and XANTARES continued their strong form into the main event, the duo were a constant threat to NAVI while their captain MAJ3R also pulled off some huge rounds.
However, on the decider, Dust2, it was the combined efforts of b1t and w0nderful who saw NAVI get themselves over the line, they closed out the series with 20 and 18 kills respectively.
Despite their strong performances on the final map, it was jL who was awarded the MVP award for the event. The Lithuanian continued his strong 2024 with a 1.31 rating across the 16 maps he played.
NAVI will now head to Copenhagen to compete in BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024. Defeated finalists at BLAST Premier Spring Final in London, they'll now have renewed confidence that they can lift yet another trophy when they get to the Danish capital.
