We closed out day one of BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 with a banger, a huge upset victory as Liquid took down Spirit 2-1.
Liquid had to come back from a big defeat on map one in order to do so, so let's take a look at how the action unfolded.
Given how map one went, many would have predicted this series would be a quick and easy 2-0 for Spirit.
The Spring Final winners took a very sizeable 9-3 lead into the second half, partly thanks to donk keeping cool and sticking the defuse in round eight.
The young gun was the big star in the first map, he put Liquid to the sword with 25 frags as Spirit raced to a 13-3 win.
A map down and onto their opponents' map pick, Liquid would need to dig deep in order to stay alive in the series.
They looked like doing so from the offset, NAF came up huge on the B site prevent Spirit from even being able to get the bomb down.
8-4 in favour of Liquid at the half, at one point Spirit had the game tied up at 11-11, but Liquid kept their composure to secure the map 13-11.
NAF came up big again in the final round, pulling off the clutch to secure the win for his team.
With the series being taken to it's decider map, Anubis, Liquid kept momentum on their side as they built up a favourable 7-3 lead on their CT side.
ultimate then extended this to 8-3, the Polish AWPer showed that he could do more than just use the big green as he shut Spirit down on B.
Once again the first half ended 8-4 in favour of Liquid, and once again Spirit managed to claw their way back into the game.
However, this time Liquid managed to close out the map slightly quicker as YEKINDAR pulled off a 1v2 to secure a 13-10 victory.
