They've done it - s1mple and FaZe will be in the Major playoffs.
Making it to the arena with a 2-0 win over The MongolZ, FaZe are starting to make some statements here in Austin, and a prime s1mple performance promises every team in the competition that FaZe will be ready for the games to come.
Let's go over the action.
The MongolZ started their map pick of Ancient incredibly well, they had a 5-0 start on their T side before FaZe even knew what was happening to them.
FaZe soon got themselves back into the game to limit The MongolZ to just a 8-4 lead at the break, some big plays from their stars helped to prevent the game from getting away from them.
They then opened the second half with a three round winning streak, drawing the scores close at 8-7.
However, The MongolZ got themselves back into the game, winning three rounds of their own to build up a comfortable gap at 11-7.
The Mongolians even looked likely to take map point, but s1mple and frozen were just too strong in the 2v4 as FaZe went on to win six rounds in a row to close out the map at 13-11.
Despite a 0-6 start, s1mple topfragged the map for FaZe, he went 18-11 but was ultimately outshone by the 23 kills on mzinho.
After such a competitive first map we were expecting map two to be much of the same.
However, FaZe were on top from the start, limiting The MongolZ to just two T side rounds as s1mple, rain, and frozen combined for 43 kills in the first half.
Even more unbelievable considering how The MongolZ won their first round, a 1v3 ace clutch from Senzu, it really did feel like a statement of intent as FaZe wrapped up the second half with ease to end the map at 13-4.
