Given their early exit from the Perfect World Shanghai Major, changes to the Virtus.pro starting roster were expected.
However, few would have expected the changes to come so quickly, as today the organisation has announced that long-standing AWPer and IGL, Jame, has been moved to the bench.
Before being benched, Jame was the last remaining player from the lineup Virtus.pro acquired from AVANGAR at the end of 2019.
The move isn't really surprising, even before the Major there were calls for VP to make a change following a difficult 2024 season.
There were some highlights through 2024, including a top four finish at BLAST Premier Spring Final, but the team failed to ever really kick into gear following the signing of electroNic and departure of dastan.
In his final event with the team, Jame and VP were eliminated from the Opening stage of the Perfect World Shanghai Major with a 1-3 record. He struggled at the event, recording a 0.99 rating across the six maps played.
Jame had great success during his time with the Virtus.pro roster. When they played as Outsiders following the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the team was victorious at the IEM Rio Major 2022, beating cadiaN's HEROIC in the final.
A unique player with an even more unique calling style, that style has somewhat suffered the move to MR12, although Jame is sure to be a big prospect for teams despite that.
