RMR Counter-Strike is fantastic and whether it's in the form of massive teams missing out or minnows booking themselves places int he Major, always creates the biggest stories of the year.
We could've had one of those stories had DRILLAS qualified for the Major and not been eliminated at the hands of FlyQuest, however, we got one anyway as a surprising team has gone 3-0 in the Americas RMR.
They took down Liquid in their opening game as well as a strong 9z team to book their spot in the Major, so congratulations Wildcard, you've got your stickers in the game.
Faced with arguably the hardest opening game imaginable in Liquid, Wildcard rose to the challenge as they pulled off a massive comeback from 9-3 down to win the game in overtime.
The game, a 16-12 on Inferno, featured some huge performances from Sonic and JBa. The duo combined for 41 kills as they helped their side pull off a monumental comeback that set them up for the rest of their RMR success.
Wildcard, an interesting team made up of an American, a Canadia, two Swedes and a South African, would then play one of the best teams in Brazil, paiN, a dangerous prospect who looked almost certain to burst their bubble.
However, it didn't pan out that way. Despite strong performances from paiN's nqz and lux, Wildcard won again with a 13-10 scoreline on Nuke to put themselves into the 2-0 bracket and one game away from Major contention.
The final game would be against 9z, a team who have made waves this year thanks to strong performances at both IEM Dallas and IEM Cologne.
Underdogs once again, Wildcard would rise to the challenge once more, winning the series 2-0 thanks to strong performances from everyone on the team.
And after the game they paid tribute to one of their organisations biggest backers.
Gamers are never beating the allegations, are they?
