We may only be two days into the BLAST.tv Austin Major but we already have our first team advanced to Stage 2.
That team, HEROIC, were one of the favourites to do so coming into Stage 1, and secured their advancement at the first time of asking with a 2-1 win over FlyQuest.
Let's take a look at how they did it.
The EU boys got off to a flying start on Ancient, winning six of the opening seven rounds.
Their sixth round was won in incredible fashion, just look at these crisp kills from yxngstxr.
The Aussies refused to be counted out, though, game on superstar Vexite pulled out a nice 1v2 in the retake to keep his team in the game.
But yxngstxr was just simply having none of it. The young Swede continued his impressive game in round 17, pulling off a clutch of his own to put HEROIC within touching distance of the map win.
13-7 when it was all said and done, yxngstxr's impressive 1.47 rating had him high up the scoreboard, but it was the 20 kills of tN1R that saw the Belarusian end the map as the top frag.
With their map pick going the way of their opponents, FlyQuest would have to dig deep in order to keep themselves in the game.
Good job they were playing on Anubis then, right guys?
We'll see ourselves out.
The Aussies got off to a solid start, winning the first three rounds of their T side, but that didn't stop LNZ from feeling confident about his place in the server as HEROIC won their first.
The scoreline soon made HEROIC's IGL look a bit silly, though, but at least he pulled off this round to preserve his pride.
Ending 13-11 in favour of the Aussies, HEROIC did well to pull the game back from their 10-3 deficit, and although tN1R had another starring performance, it was the combined efforts of regali and Vexite that would push us to a third.
SunPayus had been quiet by his standards going into Mirage, but he soon came alive as he clutched up in round two to get HEROIC on the board.
A relatively dominant showing from that point onwards, FlyQuest may have held HEROIC to 6-6 at the half, but the European T side was something they just weren't ready for.
HEROIC went on a monster seven round winning streak at the start of the second half, with tN1R and SunPayus both ended the game on 19 kills as their unstoppable attack saw HEROIC move onwards to Stage 2 with a 13-6 win.
