We're now two RMRs down for the Perfect World Shanghai Major and that means we know 10 of the teams who will be competing in the second ever CS2 Major.
Featuring a huge underdog as a 3-0 team, the Americas RMR featured few upsets in terms of the teams to qualify, although it took Brazilian giants FURIA going all the way to a final game against M80 to book their slot in the Major.
Let's take a look at the teams who qualified.
The big news in the 3-0 bracket will be Wildcard, they came back from a 9-3 deficit to win in overtime on Inferno and upset Liquid in their opening game.
From there, they took down paiN 13-10 in what could be considered another upset win, before confirming their slot at the Major with a 2-0 win over a strong 9z team.
The other 3-0 team was also somewhat surprising, MIBR. After beating KRU and Imperial, they were matched against Complexity in the 2-0, a match many would have expected the American team to win.
However, it didn't pan out that way, 70 kills combined from exit and saffee sent MIBR into the Major with a 2-0 win.
The 3-1 bracket featured no real surprises as paiN, Liquid, and Complexity all qualified.
paiN have long been established as one of the best teams in Brazil, and biguzera will once again feature at a Major after wins against nouns, Imperial, and 9z.
As for Liquid, they came off that opening defeat to Wildcard by beating KRU and BESTIA in dominant fashion before polishing off FURIA in a 2-1 win, booking themselves their first appearance at a CS2 Major.
Complexity also quickly shook off their loss against MIBR, they qualified at the second time of asking with a win against NA rivals M80.
With the Americas RMR set for a tense final day, different teams winning or losing would directly impact qualification ambitions as two teams were guaranteed to fall into a seventh place decider match.
As it happened, Imperial were the fortunate ones. After taking down RED Canids in their final game, FURIA winning against 9z was enough to send VINI and co. through to the Major without the need for that extra game.
As for FURIA, they still needed a win to make it, and they picked that up after a clean sweep on their T side Anubis and a tidy Vertigo win to pull off a 2-0 win over M80.
