It's been a day for upsets at the BLAST.tv Austin Major, if Falcons losing to MIBR wasn't enough for you, FaZe have also lost to 3DMAX after previously enjoying dominant results against them.
A result that sees 3DMAX advance to Stage 3 and FaZe fall to the dreaded 2-2 bracket, FaZe will now play MIBR in tomorrow's last chance matches.
Let's take a look at how the match played out.
3DMAX got off to a flying start on Nuke, they soon found themselves 5-0 up after consistently putting a halt to FaZe's attack.
However, that wall couldn't hold forever, karrigan picked up some huge kills in Yard to give FaZe their first round.
FaZe continued to need some big plays from their stars in order to pull rounds back, frozen pulled off a 1v3 int he next round to give them a second.
You can't rely on big plays, though, and after taking a 8-4 lead into the second half, 3DMAX managed to close Nuke 13-9 with Ex3rcice topping the scoreboard on 19 kills.
With their backs against the wall, FaZe couldn't gain an advantage from the first half, they found themselves 6-6 at the break.
It stayed level in the second half, too, but Ex3rcice pushed on from his strong map one performances to give his team the lead.
11-9 up, 3DMAX remained deadly, bodyy secured map point with a 1v2.
The series ended in the next round, the Frenchmen wiped out FaZe to win with a 13-9 scoreline. Ex3rcice topfragged again, he and Graviti combined for 43 kills to send their team to Stage 3.
