We're expecting to see a lot of news out of Falcons in the next week, but the first of that has come today as they have announced the release of their former IGL, Snappi.
Snappi was benched following the team's failure to qualify for the Perfect World Shanghai Major, and his release signals the end of a year-long stay with the Saudi organisation.
Although his next team is not yet confirmed, a blockbuster report from neL suggests he could be on his way to NIP.
Snappi joined Falcons from ENCE in December 2023.
Having gone from one of the best teams of that year to the ambitious Falcons, much was expected of Snappi following the move, but unfortunately for the Danish IGL, things didn't pan out as planned.
Despite missing out on some key targets, Falcons got off to a strong start by making it to the quarter-finals at IEM Katowice in their first event, but that was as good as it got as they failed to make it to the PGL Major Copenhagen not long after.
Positive results continued to be hard to come by throughout 2024, and despite the inclusion of s1mple for the Perfect World Shanghai Major, Falcons once again failed to advance from the RMR.
The final straw for Snappi in the Saudi organisation, his name hadn't been mentioned much in the rumour mill in the last few weeks. That said, the report by neL has been met with a lot of positive feedback online and there is now excitement for the potential of it becoming reality.
In a statement following his departure from Falcons, Snappi said the following:
BLAST ApS., Hauser Plads 1, 3., 1127 Copenhagen
