OG were one of the favourites to advance from Stage 1, and so at the first time of asking with a confident 2-0 victory over hometown heroes NRG.
After their advancement to Stage 2, we sat down with F1KU to discuss the Major experience so far.
You just made it to Stage 2 of the Major, how does that feel?
It feels amazing, I'm really proud of the boys and I think we have a really good chance to show up in Stage 2 as well after our results here.
This is your third Major, how does this roster feel compared to the previous ones?
It's hard to compare, it's very different to the other rosters, but it's mainly because of the transparency. We try to talk a lot to each other so we don't become frustrated and fix as much as we can when we can control the things going wrong. The coaches are doing a really good job at helping us as well.
nicoodoz is popping off right now, but the whole team is contributing to every game, what's the secret?
We just connected in some way. That's the main reason, we just feel comfortable on the server together.
What are the expectations for Stage 2? Can you keep this momentum going?
Yeah, we're hungry for more wins. We didn't have a hard struggle here, didn't have a pressure game other than B8, but I would say that we had our worst day against them. We had a talk afterwards, we were just lacking the micro-details that we are pretty good at.
I just can't wait to play to play Stage 2, I think anything is possible and if we get really going and into the flow, then maybe the playoffs are possible, but it's a far road yet.
You have a day off now, what's planned for the evening, will you be celebrating a little bit?
I don't really know, I think that might be a question for the coaches [laughs]. I think that we're probably going to play some CS, watch some games, I don't know if we'll practice, but playing for sure.
