Bad news for Astralis as device set to miss Shanghai Major

Things have been looking up for Astralis recently following their semi-finals placing at BLAST Premier World Final 2024, but they have just taken a big hit ahead of their Perfect World Shanghai Major RMR entrance.

device has just announced that he will be missing from the RMR campaign, he will be taking an extended break from the game as previous health issues have flared up once more.

device out until 2025

While device is away from the team, they will be joined by a familiar face to complete the team as br0 returns to the team.

br0 was previously a fully-fledged member of the Astralis roster, although he was benched ahead of BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 as cadiaN was brought into the fold.

Presumably, his inclusion in the roster for the RMR will also mean that cadiaN will return to AWPing, the role he stepped away from when he joined the team.

This isn't the first time device has moved away from active play because of health concerns. Not counting his extended break during his time on NIP, he also stepped away at the end of 2017 with the same concerns, a break that paved the way for dennis to make his iconic stand-in appearance.

device is set to return in 2025, meaning that Astralis will be without their AWPer for the entire duration of the Shanghai Major. They are set to compete in the European RMR B on the 21st.
