Before SunPayus there was mixwell, and the Spanish legend has now returned to the scene with the creation of a new organisation, Otakar Esports.
The organisation has been launched following a teaser trailer on November 23rd and sees the Spaniard transition to org ownership after a career as both a player and streamer in CS:GO and VALORANT.
Formerly of Movistar Riders and OpTic Gaming, mixwell retired from CS:GO in 2020 as he transitioned to VALORANT following the release of the Riot Games' shooter.
During his time in VALORANT he played for G2, where he won a number of tournaments before the creation of the VCT system. He later moved to Heretics, where he retired and became a streamer for the Spanish organisation.
In CS, mixwell is fondly remembered for his time with OpTic. He was part of the team that climbed the rankings towards the end of 2016, winning ELEAGUE Season 2 and making it to the grand final of ECS Season 2.
He later stuck with OpTic through multiple troubled rosters, eventually having a big hand in helping to build the European mix that featured allu, Magisk, friberg, and HS.
mixwell's final trophy win in CS came for North at Dreamhack Open Valencia 2018, in which he played as a stand-in for the Danish organisation.
The teaser for the new organisation offers little info on what games they will enter, however, given mixwell's involvement in VALORANT in recent years, it is likely the Riot game will be a destination.
That said, there is hope that the fan favourite will return home to CS.
