One of the craziest updates in the history of Counter-Strike 2 has just been released and it's going to make waves for months to come.
An update that adds a new game mode and will also revolutionise the skins market, it could prove to be one of the biggest updates to ever release.
Let's take a look at what's new.
The headline news for the update is that the Retakes mode has now returned to the game.
A beloved game mode within Counter-Strike, players have been using it to polish their skills for years, and now they'll be able to do so while also earning XP on official Valve servers.
The release for the update gives some more info on how the mode will play out, saying:
"In this classic game mode, each round drops you in to a fast-paced 4v3 after-plant scenario. Select your loadout card each round, check the map to coordinate with your teammates, and use your resources wisely to defuse (or defend) the planted bomb."
Although the addition of Retakes to the game is huge news, it's what Valve has done with skin trade ups that is stealing the spotlight from this update.
A massive change - players are now able to trade up five Covert (red rarity) skins in order to get a knife or gloves in return.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Once a week has elapsed the gold item will then be tradeable, meaning that you stand a chance of making an absolutely incredible amount of profit if you manage to get your hands on one of the most expensive knives in the game.
However, if you're now thinking you might be able to get a knife for cheap, you'd be mistaken. The update has caused a boom in the skin market, with skins shooting up in price as people look to trade up as much as they can in order to try their luck at a gold skin.
