It's almost time for the BLAST.tv Austin Major.
Across June, 32 two of the best teams in the world will head to Austin, Texas, to battle it out for the lion's share of $1,250,000 and see their names written eternally into Counter-Strike history.
The opening matches for Stage 1 have already been set, and the full schedule determined. In this guide, we'll tell you when each round of matches will take place, as well as when each team will enter the competition so you knew when to root for your favourites.
Although there are more teams in the BLAST.tv Austin Major, as with previous Counter-Strike Majors, the group stages will be decided through the use of the Swiss system. There will be 16 teams in each Swiss stage (Stage 1-3) with eight teams advancing and eight teams being eliminated from each one.
Matches will be best-of-one (Bo1) until a team can either advance or be eliminated. The rounds of play that feature best-of-threes (Bo3) are stated within the schedule.
There will be ten minutes between each series in the first three Stages, with 15 minutes given between maps in the Bo3s. The event will use a rolling schedule, and the times provided within the schedule are CDT (UTC -5).
That Playoffs will also be played on a rolling schedule, with 60 minutes between series instead of ten.
